The best emcee in Singapore depends on your event. For conferences and ministerial events, book Wayne Chan, Lester Leo or Melvin Ho. For multilingual crowds, Emcee Ivan hosts in English, Mandarin, Malay and dialects. For D&Ds and weddings, look at James Yang, Sylvia Tham or Merry Bees. For family days where you also need games and rentals, Big Top and FunCo supply the emcee with everything else.

We checked all nine in October 2026. Each shows hosting work or an updated website within the past 12 months.

What’s changed in 2026:

  • We added two new listings: bilingual corporate emcee Sylvia Tham and events company FunCo.
  • Melvin Ho’s site now lists 2026 events, including SSEF 2026, UON Day 2026 and the Coventry x PSB graduation.
  • Emcee Ivan lists 2026 work such as the NTU NPGS and PGA Awards Ceremony and the DHL Appreciation Dinner.
  • Lester Leo lists the SBF Future Economy Conference 2026 and the Standard Chartered Wealth Conference 2026.
  • Published price data is better than last year. James Yang’s November 2025 rate guide and Bridely’s 2026 D&D list both give real numbers.
  • Singapore’s PSG, EDG and MRA grants closed on 29 September 2026. We found nothing showing that emcee fees qualify for the new EDGE Grant.

How much does an emcee cost in Singapore (2026)?

Most emcees in Singapore quote per event, not per hour. Few publish fixed prices. The ranges below come from published rate guides and listings. Treat them as a starting point, not a quote.

Event type Typical fee Source
Community events and roadshows (newer emcee) $300 to $700 James Yang rate guide, Nov 2025
Weddings, corporate dinners and product launches (experienced emcee) $788 to $3,000 James Yang rate guide, Nov 2025
Large conferences, award ceremonies and galas (top-tier emcee) $1,500 to $3,000+ James Yang rate guide, Nov 2025
Company D&D (listed “from” prices for 11 hosts) From $588 to from $1,688 Bridely D&D emcee list, 2026
D&D hosting with DJ, using venue sound (one listed host) $1,288 hosting only, $1,588 with DJ Bridely, 2026
Company events with a former broadcaster (Wayne Chan) From $2,500; DJ and basic sound from $3,500 Bridely, 2026
General range quoted by one multilingual emcee $500 to $3,000+ Emcee Ivan’s emcee list, Mar 2026

Wayne Chan’s own blog gives a much wider band, “from $2000 to over $20,000”. That covers full-day international conferences and multi-day work. Bridely notes that some prices on its page may still be wedding-package prices. Confirm corporate rates directly.

What pushes the price up:

  • Duration. A two-hour launch costs less than a full-day conference with an evening dinner.
  • Languages. Bilingual or trilingual hosting usually costs more, because the emcee runs two scripts.
  • Scripting and rehearsal. Some emcees include a run-sheet review. Others charge for writing the script.
  • Dates. December, Chinese New Year and weekends fill first. Wayne Chan’s site advises booking early for these.
  • Travel. Events outside Singapore usually carry extra travel charges.
  • Add-ons. Live band, DJ, sound, games or lucky-draw systems add to the bill. Packages from Merry Bees, Big Top or FunCo bundle these.

Grants: Enterprise Singapore’s PSG, EDG and MRA grants closed on 29 September 2026. The EDGE Grant replaced them, with support of up to 50% for SMEs and a S$100,000 yearly cap. We found no evidence that it covers emcee fees for internal events. Check eligibility with Enterprise Singapore before you budget on it.

How we chose

We did not hire these emcees or attend their events for this guide. We reviewed public evidence only, in October 2026. Each listing had to pass these checks:

  • Still working in Singapore. Dated events, posts or website updates within the last 12 months.
  • Corporate and conference fit. Our readers search mainly for corporate, conference and government emcees, so we weighted that work most.
  • Named, checkable credits. Events and clients listed on the emcee’s own site, not just “Fortune 500 clients”.
  • Clear contact details. A working website and a phone, email or booking form.
  • Price transparency. We noted any published rates. Most emcees quote per event, which is normal here.

Client lists and event counts below are what each emcee publishes about themselves. We have not audited them. Testimonials are quoted from the emcee’s own website unless we say otherwise.

Here are the emcees in Singapore we recommend, in our original order, followed by the two new additions:

Big Top emcee services

Big Top Events is an events company, not a solo emcee. It supplies emcees alongside carnival games, inflatables, activations and event planning. That suits family days, carnivals and D&Ds where you want one vendor for the whole programme. Its emcees run the flow, audience games and interaction segments.

Its emcee page was updated for 2026, and it was taking October 2026 bookings for a new inflatable maze.

  • ✓ Separate contacts for rentals and event planning.

  • Notable clients/projects: TEL Family Day 2026 (1 August), Home Team National Day Observance Ceremony 2026 (29 July). Claims 850+ brands, including MOE, Grab, Singtel, SMU, Citibank, Porsche and Shopee.

FunCo is an event planning and rental company that offers emcees as one of its live performer options. It also supplies food stations, arcade machines, games, bouncy castles and decorations. It publishes its own Singapore emcee guide, updated in March 2026.

Its recent work includes company family days and National Day observance ceremonies. That makes it a practical choice when the emcee is one part of a bigger event.

What clients say: We did not find attributed emcee reviews on FunCo’s site. Ask which emcee it will assign and request a clip.

Pros

  • ✓ Dated 2026 corporate and public-sector events.
  • ✓ Separate teams for rentals and full event planning.
  • ✓ Large brand client list.

Cons

  • ✕ Emcee is a side service; individual emcees are not profiled.
  • ✕ Not the first choice for formal conferences.

Which emcee should you choose?

  • Conference or summit with panels: Lester Leo or Wayne Chan. Both list many recent industry conferences and moderate panels.
  • Government or statutory board event: Melvin Ho, Wayne Chan or Emcee Ivan. All three list ministry or agency clients.
  • Formal event with ministers or a guest of honour: Wayne Chan. His broadcast news background suits protocol-heavy programmes.
  • Award ceremony: Emcee Ivan or Melvin Ho. Ivan hosted the NTU awards in 2026; Melvin does voice-of-God work for award shows.
  • Mixed-language audience: Emcee Ivan for English, Mandarin, Malay and dialects. James Yang for English and Mandarin.
  • Annual dinner or D&D: James Yang, Emcee Ivan or Sylvia Tham. Ask how they run games and lucky draws.
  • Trade show or exhibition: Melvin Ho, who lists SEA Asia and other large trade events.
  • School or graduation event: Melvin Ho, who lists SSEF 2026 and two university graduations.
  • Family day or carnival: Big Top or FunCo, which bring games and rentals too.
  • Wedding or dinner with live music: Merry Bees.
  • Tight budget: Ask any agency for a newer emcee. James Yang’s guide puts newer hosts at $300 to $700.

Red flags to watch for

  • No recent, named events. A good emcee can name events from the last six months. Vague “Fortune 500” claims are not enough.
  • No video. Ask for unedited footage, not just a highlight reel. You want to see how they handle a delay or a wrong name.
  • Agency won’t name the emcee. If you book through a company, get the emcee’s name in writing. Swaps happen close to the date.
  • No rehearsal or run-sheet review. A professional will ask for your programme, guest list and name pronunciations.
  • Vague quote. The quote should state hours, languages, rehearsal, scripting, overtime and travel charges.
  • No cancellation terms. Get deposit and refund rules in writing before you pay.
  • Testimonials you can’t trace. First names only and no company are weak evidence. Ask for one reference you can call.
  • Promises of grant funding. Be wary if a vendor says a grant will pay for your emcee. PSG, EDG and MRA closed in September 2026.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is the best emcee in Singapore?

There is no single best emcee. For conferences and formal government events, Wayne Chan, Lester Leo and Melvin Ho have strong recent credits. For multilingual audiences, Emcee Ivan hosts in four or more languages. For D&Ds and weddings, James Yang, Sylvia Tham and Merry Bees are good picks.

How much does it cost to hire an emcee in Singapore?

Expect about $300 to $700 for a newer emcee at a community event. Experienced emcees charge about $788 to $3,000. Top-tier hosts for large conferences charge $1,500 to $3,000 or more. These figures come from James Yang’s November 2025 rate guide.

Who are good corporate event emcees in Singapore?

Wayne Chan, Lester Leo, Emcee Ivan and Sylvia Tham all focus on corporate work. Match the emcee to the tone. A former broadcaster suits a formal launch. A high-energy host suits a D&D.

How do I choose a conference emcee?

Ask for recent conferences in your industry and a clip of them moderating a panel. Check they will join a rehearsal and review the run sheet. Lester Leo and Wayne Chan list many recent conferences.

What does a professional emcee do?

An emcee runs the programme on the day. They open the event, introduce speakers, keep sessions on time and fill gaps when things run late. At a D&D they also run games and lucky draws. Before the event, they work through the script and name pronunciations with you.

Who can emcee a government agency event?

Melvin Ho lists Enterprise Singapore, MPA and CAAS. Emcee Ivan lists MND, MOF, MOE, HDB and LTA. Wayne Chan lists Workforce Singapore, NEA, MINDEF and STB. All three are used to protocol and guests of honour.

Who is a good emcee for a formal event?

For a formal dinner, gala or ministerial event, look at Wayne Chan, Sylvia Tham or Melvin Ho. Ask how they handle protocol, such as acknowledging the guest of honour. Ask too how they recover when the programme runs late.

Who can host a trade show?

Melvin Ho lists SEA Asia 2025 and other large industry events. Lester Leo hosted Semicon Southeast Asia 2025. Trade show work needs short, punchy segments to pull passing crowds to a booth or stage.

Who are good male emcees for corporate events in Singapore?

Wayne Chan, Emcee Ivan, James Yang, Lester Leo and Melvin Ho are all male emcees with corporate credits. Choose by event type and language needs, not gender alone.

Who are good emcees for an annual dinner or D&D?

James Yang, Emcee Ivan and Lester Leo all list D&D hosting. Wayne Chan has hosted D&Ds for Prudential and Denso. Book early, as December and Chinese New Year dates fill first.

How do I contact Emcee Ivan?

Call or WhatsApp +65 9100 5423, or email ivan@emceeivan.com. His website, emceeivan.com, lists his recent events.

How do I contact Emcee Melvin Ho?

Use the enquiry form on emceemelvin.com. His listed office is at Paya Lebar Square, 60 Paya Lebar Road, #06-28.

Who is a good emcee for a school event in Singapore?

Melvin Ho has hosted SSEF 2026, school roadshows and university graduations. For a school carnival or sports day, Big Top and FunCo can supply an emcee with games.

Who is a good wedding emcee in Singapore?

Wayne Chan, James Yang and Emcee Ivan all host weddings. Merry Bees suits couples who want the emcee and a live band from one vendor.

How far ahead should I book an emcee?

As early as you can. Wayne Chan’s site advises early booking for weekends, holidays and year-end events. December D&Ds and Chinese New Year dinners fill first.

Can a government grant pay for an emcee?

Do not assume so. PSG, EDG and MRA closed on 29 September 2026. The new EDGE Grant supports up to 50% of qualifying SME costs, capped at S$100,000 a year. We found nothing showing emcee fees qualify, so check with Enterprise Singapore first.
