How We Rate
A lot of in-depth research goes into choosing which products and services go into our listicles. In presenting you with options for you to compare and choose from, we consider which of them have the most number of positive reviews or mentions and check whether the product or service itself lives up to them.
Our criteria varies between categories, of course (as in we wouldn’t assess a bank’s housing loan the same way we would baby shampoo). But we do have five main factors we consider across the board:
Once in a while, a brand might come to us to ask to be considered to be included in one of our listicles, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they make it to the rankings. We check them out the same way we do everyone else in their category, and if they do make the grade, then you get to consider them as an option. If you’ve got a product or service you think ought to be up for consideration, let us know.

Credibility and Track Record
We scrutinize the manufacturer or distributor or service provider to see whether they have high quality standards, ethical business processes, and been in business for an acceptable length of time.
Quality of the Product or Service
We check out whether the product is well-made and does exactly what it’s supposed to or whether the service is thorough and efficient.
Points of
Differentiation
We take a close look at what makes this product or service different from its competitors, whether it’s better or inferior in some or all areas or whether it’s something completely new or innovative.
Value for Money
We do the math to figure out whether you’re at least getting what you pay for, or would be better off looking for a better buy elsewhere–especially when it comes to package deals and discounts.
Customer Service
We find out whether customers are given a hard time buying a product or service, whether deliveries are prompt or on-site stores are easy to get to, and whether they are attended to promptly and politely.
