How to choose a laundry rack in Singapore
- Rust resistance: stainless steel or aluminium holds up better in humid weather.
- Type: ceiling-mounted, wall-mounted or free-standing. Free-standing racks need no drilling.
- Drying method: manual systems use a pole and pulley. Automated ones lower and raise by remote, and some add fans or heaters.
- Load and size: check the weight limit and pole length against your bedsheets and towels.
- Installation and after-sales: ask who installs it and what the warranty covers.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best laundry rack in Singapore?
It depends on your home. Ceiling-mounted automated systems from GoodLiving or Steigen suit HDB and condo living. A foldable Houze rack suits renters who cannot drill.
What is a laundry rack system?
It is a set of poles fixed to the ceiling or wall that you lower to hang clothes and raise to dry. Some are manual, others are motorised with a remote.
What is the best manual laundry system in Singapore?
K S Auto System offers retractable and pulley systems that are manual. Ask for a free on-site measurement and compare quotes before you decide.
How much does an automated laundry rack cost?
Steigen lists its Solar model from $799 and Halo from $999. GoodLiving does not list prices on its homepage, so ask for a quote. Installation may cost extra.
Are automated drying racks worth it?
They help if you dry clothes indoors often. Fans and heaters speed up drying on wet days. They also keep clothes off the floor.
Can I use a drying rack indoors in Singapore?
Yes. Choose a rust-resistant rack and keep the room ventilated. Fan-assisted ceiling systems help reduce damp smells.
Which drying rack is best for a small HDB flat?
A ceiling-mounted or wall-mounted system saves floor space. A foldable rack works if you can store it flat.
How often should I clean a drying rack?
Wipe it down about once a month. Do it weekly if you use it daily in a humid spot. Clean it at once if you see mould or rust.
