Before they became a team of 100 spread out over six stores nationwide, Plain Vanilla started out in 2011 as a quaint Tiong Bahru estate takeaway service with the simple goal of sharing cake with others.

Today, drawing on the same recipes they started with from Singapore’s colonial past, Plain Vanilla continues to bake goodies “just like mummy used to make”—by hand and in small batches.
