The best swimming lessons in Singapore depend on your child’s age, your budget and where you live. For babies and toddlers, Happy Fish, Marsden Swim School and aquaDucks teach in warm, private pools with small classes. For school-age kids on a budget, Swim Masters, Singapore Swimming Academy, Singapore Swim School and Fitness Champs run SwimSafer group classes at ActiveSG pools from about S$100 to S$120 for four lessons. For private swimming lessons at your condo, JustSwim publishes clear per-session rates from S$75 for one-to-one coaching.

Below we compare eight swim schools we confirmed are operating in October 2026. Each listing shows its published prices, pools, contact details and accreditations, plus who it suits and who it doesn’t.

What’s changed in 2026

  • aquaDucks raised its fees from 1 January 2026. Weekday group lessons now start at S$40.06 and weekend lessons go up to S$57.23.
  • Happy Fish now lists 10 Singapore branches, including Tengah, Lentor, Buangkok and two premium “HOME” pools at Bedok and Stevens.
  • Singapore Swimming Academy and Singapore Swim School both list Punggol Swimming Complex as a new venue opening in 2026.
  • Fitness Champs is now run by Fitness Champs Holdings, a Nasdaq-listed company (FCHL) that held shareholder meetings in March and June 2026.
  • We added four schools: Marsden Swim School, aquaDucks, Fitness Champs and JustSwim. All four existing schools passed our checks and stay on the list.
  • Singapore’s PSG, EDG and MRA business grants closed on 29 September 2026. The new EDGE Grant is for business projects. We found no sign that any grant covers personal swimming lessons.

How much do swimming lessons cost in Singapore (2026)?

Swimming lessons in Singapore cost about S$25 to S$71 per lesson for group classes. Private one-to-one lessons cost about S$75 to S$109 per session. The biggest price drivers are the pool type, class size, weekday or weekend timing, and whether the coach comes to you.

Type of lesson Typical published price Examples (source)
Kids’ group class at an ActiveSG public pool S$100 to S$120 for 4 lessons (about S$25 to S$30 each) Swim Masters from S$100; Singapore Swimming Academy and Singapore Swim School from S$120 per month
Kids’, baby and toddler group class at a private indoor pool S$39.79 to S$70.85 per lesson Happy Fish S$39.79 (weekday) to S$70.85 (weekend, HOME pools); aquaDucks S$40.06 to S$57.23
Adult group lessons S$280 to S$490 per course of 8 to 10 lessons Singapore Swim School S$280 for 8 lessons; Happy Fish adult pack S$327 to S$490.50 for 10; Singapore Swimming Academy from S$320 per course
Ladies-only lessons S$354 to S$545 for 10 lessons, or from S$380 per course Happy Fish ladies pack S$354.25 to S$545; Singapore Swimming Academy from S$380
Private one-to-one lessons S$75 to S$109 per session JustSwim S$75 per session; Singapore Swim School from S$320 for 4 (S$80 each); Happy Fish S$436 for 4 (S$109 each)
Small private group (2 to 4 people) S$30 to S$61 per person per session JustSwim S$30 to S$45 per student; Happy Fish S$37.47 to S$61.31 per person
Trial lesson S$20 to S$50 Fitness Champs S$20 to S$25 via UPlay; aquaDucks S$43.60; Happy Fish S$50

A few things push the price up:

  • Weekends. Happy Fish charges S$54.50 per weekend lesson against S$39.79 on weekdays at standard branches. aquaDucks has a similar gap.
  • Heated indoor pools. Private indoor pools cost more than public pools, but lessons rarely get cancelled for rain or lightning.
  • Coming to your condo. Coaches who travel to you charge per session, usually from S$75 for one child.
  • Female coaches. JustSwim adds S$10 per session if you ask for a female coach. Ladies-only classes elsewhere also cost more than mixed classes.
  • Registration fees. Some schools charge a one-time fee on top of lessons. Ask before you sign up.

Cheaper is not always worse. ActiveSG pool classes at S$25 a lesson often teach the same SwimSafer syllabus as pricier schools. The difference is usually class size, water temperature and how flexible make-up lessons are.

How we chose

We did not attend lessons or test these schools in person. We did desk research on 7 October 2026 and kept only schools we could confirm are operating now.

  • Proof of operation. Each school needed dated evidence from the last 12 months. Examples include 2026 fee tables, 2026 site updates, new venues or 2026 company filings.
  • Published prices. We favoured schools that publish fees, so you can compare without calling around. Where we couldn’t find a price, we say so.
  • Coach qualifications. We looked for SwimSafer 2.0 teaching, Sport Singapore or National Registry of Coaches (NROC) certification, and AUSTSWIM accreditation.
  • Range of programmes. We checked ages covered, ladies-only options, private lessons, special needs support and lifesaving courses.
  • Coverage. We wanted a spread of pools across the north, east, west and central areas.

No school paid to be listed. Ratings and review counts appear only where we could see them, and we say where we saw them.

Which swimming lessons should you choose?

For babies under 2: Pick a heated indoor pool with parent-and-baby classes. Happy Fish, Marsden and aquaDucks all start from 4 months. Happy Fish has the most branches and publishes all its prices.

For toddlers aged 2 to 4: Small classes and warm water matter most at this age. Marsden caps classes at 4 to 5 children. Happy Fish and aquaDucks run dedicated toddler and preschool levels. Fitness Champs runs toddler classes at ActiveSG pools for a lower fee.

For primary school kids learning SwimSafer: Public-pool group classes give the best value. Swim Masters suits the west, Singapore Swim School suits the north, and Singapore Swimming Academy and Fitness Champs cover most towns. Expect about S$25 to S$30 a lesson.

For private swimming lessons at your condo: JustSwim publishes the clearest rates, from S$75 per session. Singapore Swimming Academy and Singapore Swim School also send coaches to condos. Check your condo’s rules on outside coaches first.

For adult beginners: Singapore Swim School’s 8-lesson course at S$280 is the cheapest structured option we found. Happy Fish’s adult pack suits adults who prefer an indoor pool. Choose private lessons if you are anxious in water.

For ladies-only lessons: Happy Fish, Singapore Swimming Academy, Singapore Swim School, Swim Masters and Fitness Champs all run ladies-only classes. JustSwim can arrange a female coach for an extra S$10.

For indoor swimming lessons: Happy Fish teaches only in indoor heated pools. Marsden has indoor heated pools at selected venues. Indoor pools mean fewer lightning cancellations, which helps busy families keep to a schedule.

For teens aiming at lifesaving or competitive swimming: Fitness Champs, Singapore Swimming Academy and Singapore Swim School run Lifesaving 123 and Bronze Medallion. Marsden and aquaDucks run swim squads.

For children with special needs: Happy Fish offers private lessons for special needs. JustSwim also lists special needs lessons. Ask about coach experience before you commit.

Red flags to watch for

  • No proof of coach certification. Ask for the coach’s SwimSafer, NROC or AUSTSWIM qualification and first aid status. A good school will tell you.
  • Large classes for young kids. Toddlers and beginners progress slowly in big groups. Ask for the maximum class size before you pay.
  • Vague make-up lesson rules. Outdoor pools close for lightning. Ask how missed lessons are replaced and how long credits last.
  • Large non-refundable prepayments. Many schools sell 10-lesson or 3-month packs. Start with a trial or the smallest pack you can.
  • Hidden extras. Check for registration fees, pool entry fees at public pools, test fees and equipment costs.
  • Condo coaches without permission. Some condos ban outside coaches or require registration. Freelancers who ignore this can get your lessons stopped.
  • Promises of guaranteed results in a fixed number of lessons. Every learner progresses at a different pace. Be wary of schools that promise otherwise.
  • Different phone numbers across listings. Directory sites often carry old numbers. Use the contact details on the school’s own website.
  • Grant or subsidy claims. The PSG, EDG and MRA grants closed on 29 September 2026. Treat any claim that a business grant pays for personal lessons with caution.
